The Sanyo SR-3770s mini refrigerator is an ideal size combined with good looks. 3.7 cu ft gives loads of versatility making this model more than just a drinks fridge at the same time the model is small enough to be tucked away in the corner of a room making it ideal for those who want a decent size mini refrigerator that can store all manner of goods yet have a long and useful life. The Sanyo SR3770s is the top selling compact refrigerator for May 2010, and as such it’s features deserve closer inspection to see exactly what all the fuss is about.
Looks:
Without a doubt the Sanyo SR-3770S is a good looking contemporary compact mini refrigerator. The reversible door is in a stainless steel finish giving a space age sterile clean look that will blend well in modern kitchens or if you are a student with the rest of your home electrical appliances in any room. The door has an acrylic coating to make wiping off fingerprints and splashes easy.
The sides and rear of the cabinet are not stainless but are a versatile black colour that will blend with most modern household decoration. The top is a smooth flat black surface matching the rest of the cabinet that can be used as a countertop serving area. Internally the cabinet color scheme follows through with door and cabinet interior all fitted out in black.

3.7 cu ft is a versatile size for a mini refrigerator that will lend itself well to numerous storage possibilities over the years. If you are a student or have cause to move apartments regularly the size of this compact is great for storing essentials including bottled liquids and dairy groceries. Full width freezer with ice compartment – Although a freezer can be useful on fridges this size you are not likely to be able to store a great deal of produce in them. As reviewed by Amazon buyers the freezer compartment does get cold enough to provide ice cubes and freeze bottles but for food storage you won’t be able to store pizzas of a regular size and will be limited to smaller packaged items.
Shelving – What this mini fridge lacks in freezer capacity it makes up for in shelving options. There are three easy clean clear spill proof shelves, two of which are tough plastic and the lower third shelf is toughened glass that acts as a cover to the crisper box contained at the bottom of the compartment for storing veg and fruit.
Door storage – The Sanyo SR-3770S has plenty of versatile door storage. There is a can dispenser suitable for a six pack of regular soda cans and a bottle holder at the bottom of the door that runs the entire width of the door and is suitable for up to three two liter standard bottles. As well as these storage zones there are two further door storage pockets suitable for cans, small bottles or small cartons.
Energy :
An adjustable thermostat and manual defrost make this 3.7 cu ft model relatively efficient with the manufacturer estimating that run in accordance with their instructions the fridge freezer will use 320 kWH per year. On 2007 electric costs at 10.65 cents per kWH that equates to an annual running cost of $34.

If you are buying this model over the net then you need to be aware that delivery packaging is generally poor and many of these fridges arrive damaged. This is because online retailers buy these fridges in bulk from Sanyo who deliver in batches of three on pallets. The online stores then simply ship individual units without any extra precautionary packaging. You can get round this problem by using someone like Amazon who have no quibble returns policy or by buying a warranty with the model on purchase to cover damage.
Users generally noted the fridge was roomy and very stylish, but that the black interior without a light could make cleaning the fridge troublesome. Performance wise there are noo stand out issues with this model.

If the stainless steel look is a must then the Magic Chef MCBR360s is comparable in size and features and cann be found for $100 cheaper than the Sanyo, but it is not as highly rated as the Sanyo.
If size and budget are not important and you just want a compact with a stylish look then there are many smaller and slightly larger models from GE and Fridgedaire on the market that compare with this model.
