Haier HNSB02 1.7 Cu-Ft Refrigerator/Freezer, White : Click For More Reviews And To Buy

The Haier HNSB02 1.7 cu ft Mini Refrigerator Freezer is one on the top selling compacts on the market today. It is a genuinely cheap refrigerator option that offers a degree of versatility missing from small portable desktop refrigerators. It is large enough for storing drinks in bottles and cans as well as having some room left over for groceries. Small enough to tuck away in a corner and relocate as necessary….the perfect dorm room refrigerator. Let’s take a look at some of the features that make this mini fridge a great buy and an evergreen favourite.

Looks

The HNSB02 is available in two color schemes both of which make for a handsome machine. For the traditionalist, or those seeking a real bargain, the machine can be purchased in a white, clean color scheme. For those looking for a more contemporary feel or who like a modernist approach the refrigerator can be bought in a black finish with stainless steel door, although this model comes with a small price premium. The white model has a white interior and the black/stainless mini refrigerator model comes with a black interior.

Size

This Haier HNSB02 1.7 Cu-Ft Refrigerator Freezer is one of the smallest compact cubes on the market. The exterior of the cabinet measures 18.3 x 19.3 x 20.2 inches, making this model easy to place in the corner of a room, under a desk, or next to a bed.

Weighing in at 38.1 pounds the fridge can be moved and relocated by one person with the minimum of fuss giving extra portability and extended use options through it’s life. Ideal if you are looking for a drinks refrigerator or a small overflow fridge for your kitchen or even if you are a student moving out of home and need a cooler you can take through many house moves over your time as a student.

Storage Features

Freezer Compartment – This model, although truly compact, offers some freezing performance. The integral freezer is half width, although it is only really large enough for making ice cubes and keeping small snacks frozen. Comes complete with an ice cube tray.

Shelving – As with many other 1.7 cu ft mini refrigerators, this model features a single slide out wire shelf dividing the interior into two distinct spaces for any foods and drinks you need to store.

Door Storage – This model boasts a reversible door which features two storage points on the interior. You have a lower bottle well that will take a 2 liter bottle and several smaller 1 liter bottles and a half width can store that will hold 2 standard soda cans.

Energy Use

Thermostatic Control – With a seven setting thermostat dial for control mounted at the back of the unit and its small size, this refrigerator is economical to run using only 295Kwh per year. The thermostat once set will automatically maintain the temperature of the fridge. Also comes with manual defrost button.

Why Should Buy This Mini Refrigerator?

Small, cheap to run and versatile at a low cost. Ideal for dorm rooms or use as a backup fridge, can be easily relocated as you move through college life.

Comparable Models?

Emerson offer a 1.8 cu ft refrigerator that is usually $10 more expensive than the haier but has better user ratings (purely because delivery packaging is better so units don’t get damaged in transport). If you want an exact match in size then the Danby DAR0488W is ideal but does not come with the ice box, has a reputation for not cooling well and is about $30 more expensive generally.

Where You Can Buy This Compact Fridge?

The white Haier HNSB02 comes with a RRP of $120 and the stainless steel model comes with a price tag of $199, however, there are many great deals available on the market, check Amazon and Walmart for the cheapest online prices.

Our Verdict

If you can get one undamaged in transit then this model from Haier is the class leader on price and performance. If you don’t want the lottery of damage on delivery either go for an insured model from Amazon for a little a few dollars more or consider the Emerson.
